Watchmen (2009)

Unfortunately this movie has been victimized by Hollyweird whores.. dont bother with the theatrical release... see either the extended directors or the super-duper big top uncut version(Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut amazon $34.99). Im not going to tell anyone to use alternative measures to view the 215 minute ultimate cut, but this is the version to see. But the directors cut is at Wallyword for whatever they go for and isn't a slap in the face like the theatrical version. >Whew<
As for the movie itself, its beyond great. Now this is one of those movies that's driven by the story much more than FX and powerful delivery, and is an interesting non-comic book movie(though its adapted from a comic book)look at a world with 'super'-heroes(though it could be argued only 1 was super, and the rest were extraordinary). Oh and for the record, Dr. Manhatten was the first big blue.... guy.... on screen, so take that Avatar. Definately not kiddy fare as there is adult themes and nudity. Watchmen compared to the other comic based movies is like what Serenity(Firefly) or Babylon 5 is to Star Trek. Very highly recommended for those who like a journey into the almost real.
