The Hurt Locker (2009)

My first reaction to this film was why did they make this. Sure it's a pretty fair human drama with all the right amounts of danger, angst, heroics, conflicts and confusion... something seemed amiss. Was it that the army personnel in the movie are undisciplined, irresponsible and show a total disregard for procedure? Could be... could be that this movie is the polar opposite of Black Hawk Down. Or it may be that when the movie ends you think... what was the point of that? Maybe thats the message of the whole movie, that there is no point, and I'm just not smart enough to see what the point is in making a movie in which the point is that there is no point... but aside from all that, its a fairly entertaining movie. And when the chips are down I guess being entertained is the point..or something...
