2008 was a banner year for Marvel film, its first 2 releases being very well received. Iron Man wasn't just a great comic book movie, it was a great movie. Robert Downey Jr nails the Tony Stark character. The tech geeks in FX really spread their feathers on this one, the story line is a winning mix of action and humor, and the lead is reborn with a noble obsession. Gallahad for the 21st century. Some liberties are taken with the origin, but it makes a good fit for the times we live in. This is a great fun film that anyone can enjoy.
