This isn't set up as a direct remake, rather a part 2. Alice is much older and remembers Wonderland only in dreams. Burton is kind of like a fat kid at a candy buffet with this movie, taking a bit of this and a bit of that and mixing it all together under 132 pounds of rainbow sprinkles. Colorful with a bit of British style stuffiness and a light glaze of humor, we follow Alice through the looking glass as it were, where she transforms from a willful sprat to the champion of good, and ultimately master of her own destiny. Nothing real heavy here, light fluffy story telling with a side of oddball.
